Artist note:

So often we place parts of our life into highs and lows, or shallow to deep spaces in our mind. This acrylic on canvas is not only a color contrast, but a contrast of the feelings I was having during that time.

When creating this piece, several techniques were used including fluid blown paint, butane torched areas and fine line knife drips.

This study in contrast is accented with gold leaf. Patina on some of the gold leaf adds a subtle accent.
